Bienvenido a Brooklyn!

And we're back.

It feels so good! We traded in 75 degree weather for the fourth snowiest winter on the books, and I couldn't be happier.

The paint has dried, the furniture has arrived (FINALLY) and we've managed to visit Oaxaca. Okay, not as in Mexico, but a new taco place literally around the corner from our apartment, and Calexico (again, not the city) of the famed carts in NYC--they opened a little cafe right after we moved to California.
The restaurants--I use that term loosely as both establishments have very limited seating--are doing street food. Oaxaca is a little more traditional, while Calexico mixes it up a bit. Both are yummy delicious, but my husband will always be wooed by a good old chorizo taco, so, Oaxaca, score one for you!

Now, I'm just waiting for the thaw of Spring for the amazingly good eats that accompany the soccer fields in Red Hook.

Next I'll be traveling to Queens to Tortilleria Nixtamal--the only place in NYC to make it's own nixtamal and then grind it into fresh masa. Can't wait! Word on the street is their posole is amazing!
